Just got back from Wizard World Chicago Comicon.
I'm beat. The damn flight was over 2 hours late. The plane arrived on time but the replacement pilots showed up 2 hours late. Doesn't make sense.
Here's my quick impression of the 2009 Wizard World Chicago Comicon:
Very uneven and hot.
When I say hot. I mean hot. It was over 95 degrees with almost 100% humidity. I'm talking Africa hot. And on Saturday, the busiest day, most of the AC in the convention hall wasn't working. Every fanboys were making their own gravy. Not a pretty sight or smell.
However I had a wonderful time meeting all my peeps from the message board. Great big shout out to Dave Colombo, Dave Morris, The Fred, Zeus Monkey, Mez, Batusi, and many others. You, fellas, made this Chicago show a fun one despite all the screw-ups by the convention and heat wave.
Welp. I just wanted to give you guys a quick update for now. I'll have a semi-full report later in the week.
But for now, I'm going crank up my AC, go to bed and dream of zaftig women.

Welcome back, Frank. I love the jet-lagged monkey drawing there.
So no official announcement about your New Ultimates comic yet?
I figured Marvel would do that at San Diego.
Glad to hear that the gathering of monkey boys 'n girls made for a good time in Chicago.
(Pssst...Fall Con in Minnesota will be cooler with or without air conditioning. I'm just sayin'.)

Frank it was great seeing you again and thanks for signing all of my crap!
Trust me, this was the worst show we've ever had here and I'm sorry you had to experience it the way you did. My hope is that Reed will bring the thunder with C2E2 and return Chicago to it's former glory. Also hope they extend an invite to you.

They say that gravy goes good with biscuits.
My family made it to Chicago a couple of years ago, and it wasn't too bad. Of course, we didn't have the problem with the heat and the A/C. You can look forward to Baltimore, since it can't be all that hot in October.
