Baltimore Comic-Con 2011. One word: Wow.

Simply the best con that I’ve attended – bar none!

I’ve got to meet Stan Lee, one of the most influential figures in the comic book world ever and my childhood hero, not once but TWICE. The first time was pretty surreal and we didn’t talk much. But the second time after Stan Lee’s autograph session, I got to meet him privately away from the public eye. (Thank you, Andy and Mike.) Not only did he had a great sense of humor, he was sharp and still passionate about comics. He was genuinely curious about my Marvel work and my art. To hear Stan Lee tell me that he loved my women… Wow.

I asked if I could take a picture with him. He said, “let’s do this right”, stood up and put his arm around my shoulder.

Wow. What a great guy.

On the sales end, this year’s Baltimore Comic-Con was one of most profitable conventions that I’ve attended all year. The attendance was up through the roof. The whole show was abuzz with excitement. Everyone I’ve talked to were truly happy about the show and comics in general. Everything ran smoothly, thanks to the well informed and friendly volunteers. My “One-Character-One-Action-One-Setting-In-One-Hour” Drawing Challenge panel ran great despite a minor hiccup in the beginning. I hope that I didn’t offend anyone with my salty language while I drew Power Girl riding a T-Rex in the Wild West.

Even though I literally got back from the show and I’m completely exhausted, I want to go back again.

I can’t wait for next year’s Baltimore Comic-Con.

EXCELSIOR!

Finished the evening panel talk with “Stan Lee and Friends” at the Hyatt. (The Stan Lee friends were Mark Waid, Walt Simonson, Weezie Simonson, Roger Stern, Herb Trimpe, Mark Buckingham, Larry Hama, Barry Kitson and me.)

Wow. Stan Lee worked the crowd like no other. He was unbelievable. Stan was simply fantastic.

Afterward, I turned into a fan boy and got my “Amazing Spider-Man #238” signed by Stan the Man himself.

“Amazing Spider-Man #238” was the very first Spider-Man comic book I bought with my own money.

You can see me all day Saturday and Sunday at my booth #1502 (behind Neal Adams giant booth) where I’ll be signing and bullshitting all weekend.

Here’s a list of crap that I’ll be selling at the show:

*Liberty Meadows Baltimore Comic-Con art print (signed and numbered) – $20
*Liberty Meadows 2013 Calendar – $20
*Various out-of-print art prints (limited supply) – $20 each
