Frank Cho’s January and February 2012 Convention Schedule

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Man, I can’t believe the convention season is just around the corner. This year, the convention season starts a little earlier for me, as in January.

Here’s the first two conventions that I’ll be doing this year. (I’ll post my complete 2012 comic convention list later as things firm up.)

February 17 -19

For Mega Con, I’ll be doing a special T-shirt for them featuring the Mega Gator. Here’s a rough pencil sketch of the design.

Well, I just finished inking the Mega-Gator for MegaCon.

Feb. 17th – 19th, 2012
Orange County Convention Center Hall D
9800 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819

I believe that this will be used for the program book and t-shirts.

This was a fun trip down memory lane. I used to do many T-shirt designs during my college days. Good times.

I’ll try to have the colored version as soon as it’s colored.

Living With Mary Jane

FRANK CHO Mary Jane Spider-Man commission
FRANK CHO – Mary Jane Spider-Man commission – click to enlarge

I’m sorry, gang, for the late art blog. I just finished Megacon and I’m still here in Florida. As always, Beth Widera and Christine Alger ran another fabulous show. The attendance was up and the building was literally bursting at the seams. I had a fantastic time.

Here’s the first of the three convention sketches I did at MegaCon. Oddly enough, I don’t often get asked to draw Mary Jane even though I’m a huge Spider-Man fan. I guess Mary Jane gets overshadowed by Spider-Man’s other love, Black Cat.

I actually made myself laugh while drawing this because it happened to me few times. There is nothing more emasculating than buying tampons for your girlfriend or your wife.

This was drawn on a large 14″ x 21″ Bristol board with a pencil and ink for the word balloons.

I’ll post the second one (Wonder Woman) on Wednesday.
(Special thanks to Brandon Peterson for scanning these sketches at the convention.)
