I've decided to take a break from my Marvel projects and work on the Frankenstein piece last night. I can't believe it's been 3 weeks since I've touched this piece.

As you can see, I've started working on the curtains and the bed post. I was going to add elaborate design on the curtains, but decided against it. The curtain patterns will compete with the wallpaper patterns on the left side. Also by keeping the curtains rather dark and simple, they will act as a framing device and let the eyes focus on the lady's dress and figure.

The arm on Frankenstein still bothered me so I've reworked it. I'm still not happy with it. I'll most likely change it again.

More next week.

in regards to the arm: I suggest letting the sleeve cover it so it can go dark and not distract away from the girl or his face.

Looking good otherwise and keep exercising that wrist!

I think you may be right.

I'm gonna cover up that arm and see how it looks. Maybe darken up Frankenstein's coat so the lady in the foreground would "pop" more.

maybe its time to take the Greg Land approach. Have Frankie's
arm reaching out to touch Liz.

not sure if taking reference is really what you mean with the Greg Land approach (since every artist uses ref) but the pic shows indeed a nice addition possible for Frank's piece...

better be careful Frank, you know the famous artist saying: Once you used too much black, you can never go back!

I like it even without the hand reaching out. it's like she senses it there just from the menace it exudes. love the contrast of the dark monster, and the white neck and shoulders of the girl. terrific!
