After the Mighty Avengers #6, I'll be jumping straight to Mighty Avengers #1 Annual (and Liberty Meadows #38  ).

Nothing is finalized but that's the general schedule.

I've gotta be honest, I feel a bit letdown I thought we would be having you as the main series creator for a long time. I love your art like every fan does but the delays we had were too many.  I saw that while you were producing these first batch of issues you had multiple other things going on like convention appearances, other series covers, posters, Liberty Meadows, etc. Do you foresee being able to produce another story arc and this time keep it on schedule? There was a bunch of interviews promoting this series and your art and making a big deal that you were commited for the long haul. You do top quality work but like Bryan Hitch on Ultimates, these type of delays ultimately kill the interest and the momentum a project might have. I realize putting artwork for a monthly comic book is sort of slave labor and you have to have a lot of love for what you are doing in order to be able to sit the hours. This is a great series and Bendis and you are a great match for it, I would hate to see you take a second place as the series creator. Hope you can make a comeback and be able to produce your signature excellent work within the appointed deadline.

I, too, am disappointed with my speed on this series. I learned the hard way that I'm not a solid 6 week guy anymore and drawing a team book is like drawing two books a month due to the copious amount of figures that I have to draw in multiple panels in every page.

It's weird the more I draw comics the more self-conscious I get about the quality of my drawing, thus slower I get.

My original goal was to stay on Mighty Avengers for the long run but with my tardiness I was hurting all the books that are tied in with Mighty Avengers. So I pulled myself out.

Don't know what my plans are with Mighty Avengers after my 6 issue run. My editors and I are looking into Mighty Avengers stories with flexible deadlines, such as Mighty Avengers Annual #1.

Frank, I hear you and agree with you completely.  Drawing and inking sequential art is a grind!  I don't think it's possible to do it and retain a consistent, professional quality without having that much needed time.  Publishers should realize this and specifically gear the projects so specific artists are working on the ones they can handle realistically in the time frames.  The worst thing you could do is to rush the work and come up with something you're not happy with.  The chances are, that fact would show up in your work as well.

Honestly Frank, you being self-conscious about the quality of your drawings is like Jessica Biel being self-conscious about the way she looks in a bikini. I mean, you drew the hottest fricking Mary Jane ever, using nothing but a fricking ballpoint pen!!

But still, we all have moments of self-doubt (some more than others), but I can't think of a single case where the self-doubt is less justified. I know you hear this a lot, but you are the greatest comic book artist I know of. If I died today and went to heaven where I'd meet Jack Kirby, and he'd ask me who my favorite artist was I would still say "Sorry, mr Kirby, I love your art but Frank Cho is my master." Okay, that might be pushing it a bit but you get the idea. There are hundreds on this board who thinks roughly the same as me and probably loads more out there who doesn't even know this board exists but loves your art almost as much, so trust us when we say that you have nothing to be self-conscious about.

I understand there's always pressure when it comes to deadlines. Still in my opinion it takes a lot more character to stand up and admit that you can't get the stuff out on time, than meet deadlines with a bunch of art you're not satisfied with. Whatever your future projects will be, trust that there are a lot of us who'll buy, read and love your art, even if it's late!

Howdy,
I wonder, Mr. Cho, if one of the reasons you feel some anxiety about your art is you keep pushing the envelope. The sheer number of figures you drew in that last Avengers vs. Iron Men page just boggles my brain. Your intergrity in producing top notch artwork probably means that you're your own harshest critic. Anyway, I agree with the opinions already expressed; your work is tops. I bought the Avengers comics, and I don't even like superhero comics much at all. Your art sold me on it, and nothing else. Personally, I hope you can do more creator owned work like the Shanna series. But even if you decided to do deranged cows only for the rest of your career I'd keep checkin' in to see your stuff. Smile
Best Wishes,
Aaron

P. S.
Two words to your editors, Mr. Cho, dinosaurs and monsters...oh yeah, and jungle gals... hey, and that Medieval sword and sorcery comic? Err...and what was the deal you were working on when you needed Victorian era references? Look, maybe your editors and I should take a meeting. Smile
Best wishes in whatever you have to show us next. Can't wait to see all your upcoming projects.
Sincerely,
Aaron

Then I hope your participation in the book doesn't gets limited to that one annual and you get to keep doing storyarcs even if we have inbetween pencilers that fill the gap between your stories.
