Woo-HOO! Just received the photos of the painted Red Sonja statue
based on my art, and it looks great. It’s always fun and a real treat
to see my art in 3 dimensional form.

Here’s the final colors on the Red Sonja statue from the talented Joy and Tom Studios. (Love the splattered blood on the ax and shield.)

Been rummaging through my old sketches. I forgot I did so many Conan and Red Sonja cover ideas and prelims that just never went anywhere.
Here’s one Red Sonja cover idea for whatever reason I never finished.
I tightened it for today’s blog and will probably ink it for fun down the road.

Normally I don’t do art commissions - EVER.
However, the money was too damn good to turn down on this number.
The reason why I did this commission was easy. The hard part was already done. This was an unused Red Sonja cover penciled image that I had lying around the studio. So half the work was already finished.
When the client came to me with a brick of cash and asked for a Red Sonja pin-up, I decided to kill two birds wth one stone.
