Been designing bunch of new characters and costumes for the Ultimates 4 book.

Here’s a sneak peek of an Asgardian troll soldier. I’m in midst of doing massive wrap around covers for Ultimates 4. One cover will have all the good guys and the other will have all the bad guys. The two covers will form a massive horizontal image of a battle scene. The original art is 24″ x 84″. Yes, 84 INCHES!!! (Each cover is 24″ x 42″.)

I’ve been working non-stop to make the two covers join up seamlessly. Will post the rough pencil Sunday January 9.

Here’s the new Thor design for the Ultimates.

I’m following Dave Finch’s lead and keeping it somewhere between Joe Mad’s cartoony design and Bryan Hitch’s realistic design.

As I’m still away in New York City Comicon and have nothing special prepared for today’s art blog, I’ve decided to give you guys a sneak peek on the Ultimates project that I’m currently working on with Jeph Loeb.

In this page Tony Stark is being Tony Stark when he’s out of his armor - a womanizer.

Who is this lovely woman bumping uglies wth Tony? Ahh, that is something you guys have to find out when this issue hits the stands this fall.

(It’s not “Ultimate Northstar” )

Frank Cho, gesture drawing, pencil sketch, original art

I have my daughters for the weekend. Unfortunately, my youngest, Samantha, is sick. Nothing major. One of those minor things that you have to ride out. Friday night and Saturday were pretty bad but she’s doing okay today. It’s amazing how kids can just bounce back from an illness.

I really didn’t have any time to do anything this weekend.

Today’s blog is a random sketch that I did few months back. I was playing around with gesture drawings and cool looking head wears. This is one of the sketches I worked on, thinking out an idea. I may revisit this sketch and finish it up in a later day.
