I love King Kong (update)

As you ladies may know after reading my art blog from Sunday, I’ve been quietly working on a King Kong painting for fun these past few years. Constantly second guessing myself, I’ve been painting and repainting, drawing and redrawing the same damn King Kong pose for while now. The pose just wasn’t clicking.
After reading Steve Gordon’s suggestion of going with bent left leg pose instead of the right leg pose, this got me thinking again. The early sketches had King Kong with the bent left leg but I later changed it to the bent right leg. Maybe I gave up too soon on the bent left leg.
So I decided to reevaluate the bent left leg pose and drawn a new study of the pose. And you know what? Steve Gordon was right.
